After having my smoke detector go off in the middle of the night, I received no call from Arlo monitoring. I verified that my sensors and hub were configured to hear the detector, I started a chat with support and was informed that Arlo monitoring only receives alarms for smoke and CO2 when the system is armed away. This is ridiculous. If my system is on standby and there is a CO2 emergency, I may be incapacitaed before I can call 911. That is the purpose of having monitored fire and CO2 alarms. Tech support advised me to arm the system away when I'm sleeping if I want monitoring, which would mean the motion alarm would go off every time I get up to go to the bathroom.

There is nothing on the Arlo website or sales literature that advises the monitoring for fire and CO2 are onlyactive when armed away. This is basically a bait and switch, and Arlo needs to correct this immediately. It's a simple programming change, get on it now before someone dies while thinking Arlo is protecting them.

You can have alerts when in standby or the other modes. However, to receive a call from Arlo monitoring you would have to be in Armed.

I understand that is the way it works. What I’m saying is that is not the way it SHOULD work. Fire and CO should be monitored in any mode just as they are by every single other monitored alarm company. Smoke and CO2 can incapacitate residents before they have the ability to call 911. That is the point of having monitored CO2 and smoke alarms.

I agree it makes sense to have that option, especially since you could be using Arm Home or Standby when you are away.
