I think the problem is that the user isn't warned about that, as the banner talks about many benefits of the new app only. Also, there is no explicit way of backing out of the upgrade (certainly there wasn't one for me).

Anyway, what is the new multi location policy and at what point does the user accept it? Is it when they upgrade, despite not being explicitly told about it? When I was in the process of upgrading, multi location policy wasn't mentioned.

This wouldn't be an acceptable approach in the EU, I'm afraid.

Arlo Secure - Multi Location Policy under New App

Today I am saying "Good Bye" to Arlo.
For years I've been a strong supporter and have recommended Arlo to many friends.

Arlo has now made the decision to upgrade their interface application to the "Feed" application and, once a user is upgraded, will no longer allow the application to be reverted.

I have 12 cameras across three individual locations (Home, Office, Vacation cottage) and have enjoyed the ability to Arm / Disarm each location separately under the same subscription. Today Arlo Support confirmed that Arlo no longer allows the "Feed" app to return to the old version. If I am to stay with Arlo, my ONLY option is to triple my subscriptions and pay over $450 per year for Arlo Secure services.

For anyone with cameras at more than one location, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for your video monitoring support. There are plenty of lower cost options to choose from.

So subscription is not per (main) account! 😱

This is unecessary and stupidly kicking customers (like you @JakeOJ ) out. Even from ARLO's running cost perspective, subscription fee could be increased with number of cameras (due to increased AI/ cloud data usage).

Say subscriptions:

tier 1 = $x = 5 cameras

tier 2 = $y = 10 cameras

etc

Given so many things from ARLO making me angry already, this joke is making me laugh instead! 😅

Alex
