I have just purchased an Arlo Q Plus. My concern is that the back of the camera seems to be hot. This cannot be safe to leave on for any lenght of time.

Can say mine has been running warm for over a year now ( so did a nest camera )... Other users had theirs in the sun and it shut down when it got to hot so there is a thermal safety device built in already.

Hand on camera warm yes, really hot no.

As mentioned by TomMac above, this is normal behavior. While powered, the camera will be warm to the touch.

That's a common Arlo Q security camera (and not only Arlo, literally every security camera runs hot) issue and mine has been running hot for a few months now (well, that's when I took notice). But I haven't had a problem yet so I'm assuming it's safe and there's nothing to worry about.
