geocaching does not work, using android phone, forums appear to say it is broken permanently. Is there a quick way to arm and disarm in the phone app, since the geocaching has failed to work? I have an arlo q camera

not geocaching... but geozones

You need to make sure that the gps function is running in background ( along with the app , so make sure you swipe out and not sign out ) on the phone

It usu functions well with ONE phone, most issues start when running more than one

What type of phone, what OS...works fine on my android S7 / os 8

My question was not how to fix geocaching, since it is broken on the software end.

My question is a simple step to turn on camera when I leave home, and to turn off the camera when I return.

I have to go through multiple steps to do these when I turn on and off. Probably, the camera will be useless without geocaching, so may end up returning.

the term used by the software on my app is "geofencing Manage by your location". I have to go into the mode and arm and disarm manually every time I go and leave home. Easy to forget to arm when I leave.

It's not clear that you ever set up geofencing. Have you? Use one mode for Away and another or the schedule for Home.

The answer is "yes".

Sorry if i was unclear, but I thought that I had shared that I read through the forums about how to correctly set it up, but many persons were stating the feature has been fairling for years.

My question is, for the third time, if anyone knows a simple way to shut the camera on and off, since geofencing has failed to work. Going through numerous steps each time I return home and leave home to arm and disaram is not likely going to work for me. I am using camera for security, but I do not feel secure about the way the camera is functioning. Will likely return my q and my pro 2 over the next week or so, if there is no soluation (e.g., I one step way to arm and disarm).

If your schedule is regular enough, use the schedule to automate switching modes.
