Yes, if the camera is Armed when the connection is lost, recordings will still arrive on the SD card. At this time, those recordings that are made during the lost connection will not be pushed to the cloud when the connection is restored. You must eject the SD card and view the recordings on another device.

Is there anyway of making sure that the cameras record locally even when the signal is interrupted? When the signal fails, the local storage does too!

Which signal ?

If the internet goes down, and the backup drive was prev set on, the cameras will continue to record to the usb drive.

If you mean the signal from the cameras... Isn't going to happen as they are wireless and if that video feed is interfered with you have no connection to the base to record.

Looks like this is in reference to SD card backup on the Arlo Q Plus Tom. Much of what you said however still applies. If the internet connection to the Arlo Q Plus is lost, recordings will still arrive on the SD card. These recordings will not upload to the cloud once the connection is restored however.

JameC

Hi JamesC,

Even if the Arlo Q Plus loses Wi-Fi signal it will still record to the optional SD card if installed, correct?

I did not realize that those recordings would not be pushed to the cloud when the wi-fi signal or internet connection was restored. Certainly not ideal when the camera is in a difficult location to reach. And then you have to transfer to pc. Sounds like a new feature request is in order.
