Yup. You're on your own if you want to use it outdoors. It may be fine - or not. Personally, I'd think the issues would revolve around moisture, even if protected. The USB wall wart and the unsealed camera lend themselves to allowing moisture in.

I would like to know the temperature range as well. Mine has a green screen in the app saying, "Your camera needs to cool down before you can use it." What's more annoying is that it's been this way for a couple of hours, and I cannot restart it remotely. It just fails with a "Your camera is busy and cannot restart" error.

Update: The camera auto-restarted after 3.5 hours showing the "cool down" message. I guess this is good since it recovered. I still would like to know what the appropriate temperature range is for this product. It's nowhere on the spec sheet.

Guess mine is vented well enough even contained in a cardboard box to try to reduce reflections (using it to monitor through a window). What ambient temperatures is yours experiencing? Is it in some sort of surround? Is it near other heat-generating equipment?

It's in a window with a shade partly down behind it to reduce reflections (like the box you have). There is a lot of space around it as I have 2x6 walls and the shade is at the very back. See below for the location with the shade raised. It was about 80F outside when it happened and the sun does heat up the bricks on this side of the house, but it seems odd to me that an IP cam, drawing less than 10 watts, would be so affected by this kind of heat.

Mine gets hit with late afternoon sun through an old window with storm window (so no low-E glass, etc.). Maybe it's low enough to not cause issues or the glass has magical properties...
