One of the common problems if if your wifi ID uses spaces or special characters.

No... the Arlo Q ONLY CONNECTS to your home wifi/router..

( the Arlo base sets up a wifi system for the Arlo cameras only and is not a 'normal' router )

There is no access to the Arlo base.

Don't know, but since you haven't been able to connect and your Home wifi SSID and Password are good ( have no spaces, special charactors ).

I would try a reset of the Q camera.

Hold in the reset on the camera till the front LED starts to flash amber ( aout 5-10second hold ).

Then try and sync to your home wifi system as per the directions again.
