Update: I have connected 1 out of 4 cameras and the only one to connect is the one that didnt update the firmware (as far as I am aware). The others stubbornly refuse to connect to the app, just says "looking for camera"

I tried to log out and log back in and the camera that had connected has now dissapeared from the app .....

The camera light is solid blue during this process

Worse £400 ever spent it seems...

I have 4 cameras, we recently moved house. I had problems connecting them so I tried the following:

1: deleting app, redownload and reinstall

2: add cameras from scratch

3: 1st camera wont connect so I opened my virgin hub and I can see that the arloq is recognised and using 123.68 Mbps but the arlo app refuses to connect.

4: I stopped using 5ghz and switched to 2.4 ghz but no change.

5: I tried placing the arlo camera on top of the router but it made no difference (previously it was 20 inches from the router).

6: I have tried the app on my chromebook and on my phone but both have the same response (obviously not at the same time)

7: I then disconnected all the other devices using wifi except for the one with the app on and still no difference.

The only other thing I noticed is that on the first time I tried to reconnect the cameras they flashed orange/blue indiciating a firmware update, is this what is causing them to fail?

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get them connecting?

What you are calling "connecting". Adding the cameras back to your account.

Not sure if you are using the full reset procedure - that might be needed.

https://kb.arlo.com/000062665/How-to-factory-reset-an-Arlo-Q-or-Arlo-Q-Plus-Camera

FYI, the simplest way to avoid this friction is to set your new router to use the same wifi network name and password as your old router did. But I think it's too late to do that now.

I reset 2 cameras to check and then went through process of reconnecting them but both of them stalled during the process and made a Dur, Dur sound then started flashing orange (after flashing blue while trying to connect for about a minute.)

So no luck I'm afraid.

UPDATE

I have finally succeeded, persistence pays off it seems. I spent some time resetting all the cameras several times and uninstalled then reinstalled the app again on a new chromebook, under a new account and they now the app seems to be accepting the cameras. Still not sure what the issue was but its working now.

I have often thought that any setup is locked into Arlo's infrastructure and as long as you leave it alone most of it will work OK.

If you have to make any changes then the scenario seems to be, remove all cameras, reset, etc. Then start afresh with a new account. Changing routers SSID or ISP does seem to often be a problem.
