First the Q model does not have a SD card slot while the Q Plus does...

Tho the Q is direct to your home wifi, if running a base that supports an SD card, it will record there too.

As my card, I find a 64 GB is plenty ( the max IIRC id 128GB on the Q+ ) for months of recordings on over 10 cameras.

Nope, the Q (nor any camera connected to WiFi) will not record to a base. Any camera connected to that base will be able to locally record.
