The siren for the outdoor camera alarm for cats which means it is not possible to use since cats are frequent in the area. According to Arlo/Verisure it is not possible to do something about this which I find hard to understand since the indoorcameras do not alarm for animals.

Did you tune the motion sensitivity? Walk around in the area of interest while running the motion test, and find the lowest value that detects you reliably. Then set the actual threshold a bit higher (more sensitive) than that.

If you see "Feed" and "Dashboard" in your app menu, then you can use this guide for the test

https://kb.arlo.com/000062885/Why-isn-t-my-Arlo-camera-detecting-motion-Arlo-Secure-4-0

If you instead see "Library", then use this guide:

https://kb.arlo.com/41/How-do-I-change-the-motion-sensitivity-on-my-Arlo-camera

Adjusting the camera upwards a bit might also help.

If this is not enough, you can invert the camera (and apply the rotate 180 degrees setting in the app to compensate). The camera is more sensitive to motion at the bottom of the field of view than the top, so inverting the camera will further reduce the sensitivity on the ground.
