Using schedules AND geofencing at the same time

We recently upgraded our cameras to the 5s which forces us to upgrade our Arlo Secire app to the new version with Armed Away, Armed Home and Standby. I am trying to replicate the setup I had in the previous version but I am unable to get it to work using the new app/automations. I can get pieces to work but that’s it.

Here is what I am trying to achieve.:

1: Use geofencing to arm the cameras when everyone leaves and disarm when anyone arrives. (Pretty straightforward)

2. Simultaneously use scheduling to arm the cameras at a certain time in the evening and disarm at a certain time in the morning even though we are home.

I had this setup for years in the previous version of the app. Any guidance would be appreciated!

you can use 2 modes:

ARM AWAY: all cameras armed (configure under routines > modes)
STANDBY: no camera armed (ditto)

Then add two time-based automation schedules (routines > automations > add schedule):

when evening, say 7:00pm, to switch to ARM AWAY
when morning, say 7:00am, to switch to STANDBY

Then add two geofencing automation (routines> automations > add arrive/leave):

when everyone leaves defined location, switch to ARM AWAY
when anyone arrives defined location, switch to STANDBY

This should be good enough, to start with. So long as you are only leaving and returning during the day (after 7:00am, before 7:00pm). Let us know how it goes for you first, we can then go down further for fine-tuning.

Just to add to @alex_loo's comments...

You only have 3 modes to work with. You can modify all three of them, but you cannot add more. You need to dedicate one mode for geofencing - "Arm Away" is the natural choice (as Alex suggested).

That leaves two modes for scheduling - "Arm Home" and "Standby". You'll be able to toggle between those two modes in your schedule. If you can give us the details of what cameras you want scheduled when, we can help with the schedule. Though it is quite possible that you won't be able to exactly match what you were doing before.

One scenario is to modify Standby. Then you won't have a mode that disarms all the cameras, so you'd need to do that manually by turning them off in the video settings.
