Help with CVR camera compatability

Hi,

I was told by arlo I need a CVR plan because I've been using too much cloud space.

But the camera we had isn't compatible. I've now just bought an ARLO pro 5 spotlight camera. Does anyone know if this is comptable with CVR?

The guy at arlo wasn't helpful at all.

It is, but you'd need to connect it to a compatible hub, and also supply AC power to the camera.

If you get a VMB4540 or VMB5000 for the Pro 5s, then you could drop the subscription (avoiding the need for CVR and AC power). Then use direct access to local storage. The experience isn't as good, but Arlo would stop bothering you.

Another option would be to make adjustments to reduce the amount of recording. Those include repositioning the camera, adding activity zones, and reducing the motion sensitivity. How far was the camera over the storage quota?

BTW, what was the original camera?
