Audio Wind constant sensitivity battery drained

Pro 5S 2k - 3 new cameras installed, and now the batteries are all drained overnight because of constant wind recording for Audio. I've tried adjusting but it does not seem to help. I bought these with the EOL discount code to stay with Arlo, but now I'm regretting my decision. If I'm away often, which we are, a drained battery is not very comforting. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you turned off audio detection in your modes and rules? The audio settings in the camera settings won't turn it off.

I don't really WANT to turn off audio detection. that's the point of security, to detect people talking. I just don't want 20 hours of wind recorded.

Then turn the audio detection setting either in the camera settings under Default Mode Settings or in your modes and rules (use the Adjust Device Settings additional action) to a level that achieves your goal. If you're in a noisy environment, that may prove to be problematic.

To be clear, you will still get audio in the recordings if you turn off audio detection. You are just depending on motion detection to trigger the recording.

There's really nothing to read about except how to enable/disable audio detection. It's the DETECTION part that's pertinent so you don't get that 20 hours of wind recordings.

After you do that, just make a recording, and confirm that you still hear the audio.

Update, 2/27/23: I've turned the audio detection to the very lowest setting <there is no "off"> and still it is recording wind over and over and over again. In two days the battery went from 60% to 30%, with several hours of continual wind recordings. I'm not sure what to do, this is extremely frustrating.

I did. The only option there that affects this, that I can see, is not a good option for this case. I can tell the system NOT to record video if Audio is detected. I don't want that. If someone is walking toward my house and speaks, I want to record that video. If someone drives a car in to that spot and makes a noise, I want to know that. I just do not want 8 hours of wind. If I'm missing something else, please provide more detail.

It will still record audio when motion is detected. Likely this is your only practical option.

It sounds like your use case can't be solved given the available adjustments. You may want to try using just motion detection because if a person is going to speak loud enough for detection, motion will have been detected. Same thing with a car. Just make sure motion is across the FOV and the motion sensitivity is set appropriately.

OK. so just to confirm - In Rules- if I de-select "audio detection" <which in turn triggers "record video">, if I de-select that, it will not record video when audio <only> is detected. BUT, if Motion Detection <in rules> is still selected, it will record BOTH audio and video, if they exist. (triggered by the motion). hope that follows. Thanks for the quick assistance.

Motion detection records available audio. Audio detection simply uses available audio to ALSO cause a recording (or whatever you select). So, disabling audio detection still gets audio in the motion-detected recording.
