First time buying a security camera.

I GOT MY arlo 4 pro (4pacakge) . I wonder whether or not it is worth getting the Samart hub?

Can someone share/ let me know if it is worth it?

1. What is it the differences between the smart Hub or paying the app services?

2. I'm bit confused about the differences/advantages of those 2 (app fees / smart hub)

There is no difference between using the hub or your WiFi. The subscription is required for any camera newer than the Pro 2 since 2018 for cloud recordings. The hub can be used for local recordings but it's not the same as having the sub and cloud recordings.
