"Dedicated" Echo Show monitor?

I'm thinking of buying a low-end Echo Show and using it as a "dedicated" monitor for one of my Arlo Pro 4 cameras. So when somebody trips that camera, I'd like to be able to glance at the Echo Show to see who it is, and maybe talk to them.

Are any of you doing something like this? Are there any pitfalls or downsides? Once I set up the Echo Show and load the Arlo skill and tell the Echo Show to show me what's on that particular camera, will it show that feed until I tell it differently? Even as the camera clicks on and off?

And how responsive is that setup? I don't have an Arlo hub, everything goes through my wireless router -- how bad is the latency when you're trying to see what's going on or talk to somebody?

I was wondering what would happen after I'd say: Alexa, show me <camera name>. When the camera times out and then later starts up again, would Alexa automatically start showing the video stream from that camera again, or would I have to tell Alexa to show me again?
