&lt;P&gt;The cameras can connect either to your home wifi or to a base/smarthub (VMB4540 suggested here).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You will need a subscription to get cloud storage and activity zones.&amp;nbsp; With the smarthub, you could use direct access to local storage as a substitute for cloud storage, though that does have a number of drawbacks.&amp;nbsp; The only way to get activity zones w/o a subscription is to connect the cameras to AC power.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
