Add Friend won't accept email

Tried to add husband, he set up account, still showed "Pending" for 24 hours. Read some posts about using computer vs app, logging out of app, nothing worked, decided to Delete Friend, start over. Well, now Add Friend won't accept the email address, entry is in red, OK button stays black, won't turn green. Any help deeply appreciated.

MerryO,

Are you entering the email address correctly? The symptom you describe occurs when the email address is not a complete address.

When accepting the invitation, the link provided in the invitation email must be used to accept. After the invitation has been successfully accepted, you will see the status change from pending to accepted immediately.

When trying to add my husband, he gets the email but when he clicks to create account something goes wrong. He created the account but then no push notification appears and it times out before end of the "clock" timer. He elects alternate notification and selects his email. When he tries to enter the code, the screen won't accept his entry, it won't let him type or anything. He has a Samsung flip phone (new model). It won't work on my phone either. How do we get him added? Why won't the push notifications go thru?

Is he doing this on the phone? Or on a PC?
