Hi I was wondering if anyone has had a issue with the pro 4 and pro 3 going off line since Tuesday 18 March for no reason they have been in the same places for atleast 5 years the pro 4 is connected directly to the WiFi network and the 3 to the base station both are out side they work if I bring them inside and restart them but as soon as I put them back into the housing they go off line ? Any advice I would really appreciate it

You might want to check with your neighbor to see if they've added or changed anything that could be interfering with the signals. Are the cameras both on the same side of the house or nearly so?

I suggest measuring the wifi speed at your camera locations using your phone. You can use the free Ookla speedtest app for this - making sure mobile data is turned off when you run the test.

You are looking for a consistent speed of at least 2 mbps at the camera location (hopefully higher to give you some margin).

Good evening I checked at the closest camera next to it as I didn't get chance to get the ladders out the speed is

191 Mbps download and

236Mbps upload so this looks like it's well within the speed requirements

While this may be tilting at windmills, the VMB4000 is known to have a number of issues these days for some reason. Remove one camera from the base and connect it to your WiFi to see if that helps.

there is a mesh kit it was installed in March April last year

That invalidates the wifi speed test, as you were might have been connected to a mesh element and not the primary router.

You might try that test again, but this time turn off the mesh elements (other than the router). The idea is that since the router and base are close to each other, the router wifi speed the router should be nearly identical to the base.

@Ian_speeding wrote:

If the base is right next to the router, there can be some RF interference (the router radio signal can sometimes overwhelm the base receiver). We generally suggest putting the base as far away from the router as the ethernet cable will reach (~6 feet). That can improve the connection quality.
