Sporadic alerts while traveling

I traveled out of state over the holidays and my camera began alerting very sporadically. Nothing for hours even though cars came and went in the driveway, then it would alert again but not on everything. I made sure my android app was updated, restarted my phone, had someone take the camera down to remove the battery and put it back up. Nothing worked. I came home prepared to do a factory reset and start over...and now the camera works perfectly. While I was gone I didn't have wifi for my phone but I did have excellent cell service. I don't think it makes any sense but could the issue have been related to my travels? It's the only thing that was different.

You could test this idea by turning off wifi on your phone for a couple of days.
