Always too late with recording

First of all I was very let down when Arlo all of a sudden raised the monthly cost for a single camera from 3€ to 5€ per month. While the app is not great and hadn't changed at all in last few years.

Anyway, my question,

My Pro 4 is always too late with recording. For example it only starts recording when the person is walking away from the front door. Please note the camera is +-12m away from the action scene. How can I make the recording more proactive and/or record longer scenes?

12 meters (~40 feet) is well outside the advertised range of detection which is up to 25 feet (~8 meters) for people. I assume you have motion sensitivity cranked all the way up in your modes and rules?

The motion detection spec for the Pro 4 is 25 feet (~7.5m). So the best solution is to reposition the camera.

Increasing the motion sensitivty might help some.

If the camera is powered from AC (not solar), then the foresight (pre-roll) feature would kick in, and so the recording would start about 3 seconds earlier.

You can set an explicit recording length (in seconds) for the camera in the camera rules in the mode(s). Or set it to "record until motion stops".
