topic 2K Video Playback Design Issue - clearly NOT RESOLVED. in Arlo Pro 3

Design Problem:

"This video is not able to play in your browser.
Please download to view."

This message appears whenever your try to view a video in your library using any common browser in a Windows environment (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, IE).

I've seen several other posts regarding this problem and Arlo's standard answer is that is is the USER's fault for not having the right browser or OLDER browser version.

All of these posts say RESOLVED, but they are in NO WAY resolved. I've been in software design and development for 30 years. This is a ridiculous response to a bad design choice. Imagine if YouTube engineers told 80% of their users that your couldn't watch YouTube video in a Chrome browser.

Arlo developers, you need to change this design choice.

Downgrade the video clips to a format that will play in the most common browsers. MOST people don't even have a true 2K display. If you truly need to see a 2K version of your video ... THAT is the time to download the file in a 2K format.

It is frustrating and poor customer service to expect your users to downgrade to an earlier version of Edge while NOT supporting the most common browsers and versions on the Windows platform.

Treat your customers better!

Not all web browsers support 2K live streaming or video playback. Take a look here: Which devices are supported for HEVC 4K or 2K playback?

With Arlo Pro 3, you can disable 2K recordings by enabling Auto Zoom & Tracking. With Auto Zoom & Tracking enabled, the camera will only record in up to 1080p.
