I currently have arlo pro 3 and pro 4 cameras and a video doorbell. Ever since the software/app update it seems that audio detection has gone off the rails in terms of detection events even when it's relatively quiet outside. I had the sensitivity turned all the way down and now I've resorted to turning audio detection down to make the batteries last longer than a few days. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can go about fixing the issue?

Not since I've turned audio detection off. But I'd like to be able to utilize that feature so I'm curious if it is a hardware or software issue.

Can you provide if you are using an iOS or Android device? Also, can you provide the firmware on that device as well.

I have a similar issue. After updating the App on iOS, i can not turn the recording of Sound-detections off.
I have tried "everything", but the app still records hundreds of clips every day.

Software 1.080.15.0_4_bddc3de on all units. All updated.

Are you editing the rule for the camera? That's where audio detections can be toggled on or off.

Go into the smart detection settings, and if CO/Smoke detection is enabled for the problem cameras, then disable that. There is also an "All Audio" setting there that should be off.

If none of that helps, you should try a hardware reset of one of the cameras (removing it from the account, doing the hardware reset, adding it back). If that cures it, you can do the same with the other cameras. (Don't do this with a legacy camera like the Pro 2, as there is no hardware reset - and many folks have had trouble reinstalling them after then removing them from their account).

There is no CO/Smoke sensor. That setting tells the camera to listen for chirps from a nearby smoke detector.

It is supposed to surpress audio detection from other things, but I have seen other reports saying that doesn't always happen.

If there is no nearby smoke detector, then you should disable it anyway, as it will give you better battery life.
