The new interface that uses Feed to view recordings (the app is the same but supports both the old and new interfaces) won't allow you to create custom modes as before. However, you can use all 3 modes as you wish, regardless of the name. Would using Standby to activate those cameras work for you, perhaps a long with a schedule?

Since upgrading the app to version 5, I can’t create a new mode; so that I can activate a couple of my devices to keep an eye out for package deliveries. I used to turn this on manually but now I need to create it on a schedule?

Correct. Arlo removed that feature. I suspect they will be adding it back, given the user feedback. But I don't think that won't happen soon.

You could potentially modify "Arm Home" for this.

Were you using geofencing before? If you want that as well, we can talk about other options.
