topic Battery draining within 12 hours in Arlo Pro 3

I have four Pro 4 cameras set up on the outside of a house. These cameras have been set up as they are for about three years now. One camera has started going through freshly charged batteries in less than twelve hours. This camera also happens to see the least amount of use of the four on the system. In other words, this is the camera that might see 1-2 10 second recordings a day and need the battery changed once every four to five months. I have five batteries total and it does this with all the batteries. This is not a network issue. This is not a base station issue. This is a camera issue. Based off the reading I’ve done on here this is a fairly common issue, but I haven’t seen an actual solution in any of the replies yet. When I say it’s a common issue I’m saying it’s all over the internet and has been for several years. I’m beginning to think Arlo doesn’t even know what the fix is, and or they do know and won’t comment. I don’t see a practical solution other than replacing the camera.

Is the camera connected to a solar panel? There have been reports here of rapid battery drain when that is the case.

If activity zones are in use, you might try removing them as a test. Activity zones supress recordings, but do not help battery life (because the supression is done in the Arlo cloud). Another useful test (if you haven't already done it) is to swap the camera with another one, and confirm that the issue moves with the camera.

One thing you can try is to do a factory reset of the camera. Remove it from the account, and then press the sync button inside the camera until the LED flashes amber (about 15 seconds). Then add it back to the account.

can batteries be replaced and if so where do we order from? How come I just can't call a representative to walk me through this. I can't just need the verbal communication.

I have provided a link to the store where you can purchase a replacement battery for the Pro 3 camera here: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/accessories/VMA5400-10000S.html
