support for this camera sucks bad. No help either. I am just trying to find another xl battery for the thing. I can not find one for my camera. ordered one and it is a little short 1-7/8 I need a 2-7/8 can not find .

@lubbe - just want to add that you simply don't use the housing. Unfortunately there is no way to just buy the battery.
