topic Vmb4540 power adapter in Arlo Pro 3

My smarthub power adapter is not working any more. The specs on it says output is 12v ~ 1.5A, if I have a similar adapter with output 12v~ 2.0A, would that be ok to use? Referring to the difference in Amps rating?

Should be fine.

Things to consider are,

Same voltage, a higher voltage from the adapter may over heat the device and damage it.

Same amperage, a lower amps value could cause the power adapter to over heat and damage it. Catch fire.

Same plug size, different size connector plugs may not fit or damage device socket or not make correct contact. Check both inside and outside sizes.

Same polarity, the adapter plug needs to have the same polarity, +|- inner and outer to be the same.

Same output power method,
The same DC or AC output type.

Same input mains voltage range,
Possible to get it mixed up between 220vac and 110vac if working with international adapters.

As Dannybear says...

as long as polarity is correct ( coaxial center positive ) the higher amp rating isn't an issue.

The device will draw what it needs and the min is rated supply for 1.5a
