Thank you for taking the time to look at this discussion.

With the latest firmware updates it looks like I can get a Arlo Pro 3 and add my own external drive. "January 9th - Direct Storage Access: Advanced users can access recordings saved locally to their SmartHub from within the Arlo app."

My question is, can I live view the cameras on the app using only the external drive and NO cloud storage? I have around 8TB of storage I can use so I have no need for the cloud storage. The Pro 3 has no free cloud storage.

But, I want to be able to live view/playback/view recording/etc from the external drive on the android app.

Has anyone tried this with the new updates?

This feature isn't yet available with the web client - it only works with the apps. Also, you give up thumbnails when you view the library.
