Pre Recording to motion detection

Once motion is detected the camera records the activities for next 300 seconds max. Is there a way to record 10 seconds before the motion detection too? Many times the recording does not capture that and a critical action is not captured.

If you use AC power for the camera you nget a 3 second "look-back" or video prior to the motion that caused the recording. The only way to get more would be to subscribe to CVR which gives you a continuous stream for you to review. It also requires AC power since these features require the camera to be on all the time.

If the camera is connected to solar panel will it be able to then record few seconds before the motion is detected?

No, because the camera has to be constantly streaming for the look-back. That requires AC power so the camera is always on.

If the camera is outside, there is really no solution because the power cable has been recalled and unavailable for several months. What the heck Netgear? How hard is it to make a weatherproof cable?
