Short recordings with no motion, long periods without recordings that should have captured motion

My Arlo pro 2 only records short bursts approx 6 to 8 seconds of nothing. Don’t know what triggers it to start. Driving me nuts with alerts and there is nothing happening. I also get recordings that are approx 11 to 25 seconds but the person/vehicle that is in motion is not captured from the beginning of it coming into camera range until the motion stops or leaves the camera range. Then I will get minutes to hours pass by without a recording but I know there should be something recording because I was the one walking in front of the cameras. Is there something I need to set to get a consistent video of all the motion?

Distance and angle of attack are important. 25 feet is max for people detection with motion across the FOV. Also, have you adjusted the sensitivity setting in your modes?
