The newer Pro 5 cameras seem to work so that they don’t offer a free saving of videos at all.

All currently sold Arlo cameras require a subscription for cloud storage. This began back in 2018 with the Ultra. The need for a subscription is on the box. That said, the box label is easily missed.

Well, the free recording had a retention of 7 days, so not dependent on phone memory.

@Huiskutuisku wrote:

With the current Arlo version it seems that one has to delete them one by one, which inevitably directs you to a monthly deal.

Deleting recordings is the same process whether you have a subscription or not.

There is a bulk-delete method in the new app interface. You go to "Feed", and then press the three dots at the top right. Then press "Select Events". You can then make multiple selections (and select a full day at a time). Note you can use the "feed settings" first to select individual cameras or event types that you will want to delete.

Unfortunately there is no quick way to "select all" and then delete everything.

Hi to you all,

My Arlo app 6.6.0 (15731) is used at iOS 26.1

With the older version of the Arlo app my Pro 2 cameras continued recording videos and saving them into my iPhone memory for free and without a preset limitations for days to follow. The only limitation was the size of the free memory in the mobile phone. Together with saving virtually limitless video recording/saving they used to offer a ”choose all-delete all”-function that was an absolutely necessary function, because for example during a two week vacation a lot of alerts were ”produced”. With the current Arlo version it seems that one has to delete them one by one, which inevitably directs you to a monthly deal. No more usable free of charge operation. Is this the fact or is there just somerhing wrong with the way I’m trying.

The newer Pro 5 cameras seem to work so that they don’t offer a free saving of videos at all.
If both of my presumptions are reality then I think it is a scam which should and could have been avoided by clearly stating beforehand that basically using Arlo requires a monthly subscription…
