Question about compatibility Arlo Pro with newer models

I have an arlo pro system from 2017 with a base, 7 cameras in total, and i want to add 4 more. So i have 2 questions

1) if i buy the new cameras that directly sync to the wifi, will i have visibility to all 10 cameras thru the app, as the old cameras work via the base??

2) Do the old cameras sync to the wifi directly?

Yes.

No, they still will connect to the base wifi.

Note the local recordings (USB stick on the VMBxxxx bases) will only include the old cameras.
