Just out of curiosity what type of external cable do you guys recommend (on amazon) to run from my outdoor camera and to an outdoor power outlet? I am wondering what is a good power adapter that can be flushed against the outlet instead of sticking out. I was thinking of using a 25 ft cable and snake it around the wall and the door frame to minimize it's visibility. I am sure with that length I could also wedge it inside the door frame and connect it to the outlet right next to the door in the inside.

Also do I need to buy an external hard drive for this thing? So far the 7 day only has been working fine. I am just wondering if I need to have a bigger storage device on my end.

Thanks.

There are several long power cables for the Pro 2 ( on amazon ) .... I just can't tell you how good the work as I don't use them.... you will have to take a chance and see. Try them before installation in the wall. At least amazon has a good return policy.

If you have a Pro2 system, then you have a base... If it is a model 4000 or higher ( look at unit bottom ) then you can use a simple 16-64 GB mem stick into the rear usb port.... then going into settings to turn on usb recording.

You will only be able to view the vids by removing the mem stick and plugging into a computer ( not directly from program without special settings ). But the good thing is that any vid going to the cloud will also go to the mem stick and they stay forever unless erased ( as long as you have room ). My 32GB hold several months worth of vids.

I don't use them either.

But I did want to add that you should be looking for a cable that is rated for outdoor use. There are several options for third-party outdoor chargers+cables.

If you just want the cable, then I suggest just searching for outdoor microusb cables. Main issue there is that some of the microusb connectors are a bit too large. Sometimes you can (carefully) shave them down some.
