Why does my camera battery not charge?

Why does my camera battery not charge? It’s plugged in properly and shows charging the camera activates but the battery will not charge.

Open the battery compartment and follow the usb ribbon cable. At the various bends in the cable you will find the insulation is cracked and likely not functioning or shorted. If so, you are SOL because they will not sell or provide a replacement. New camera or charge battery in other unit.

To clarify - the Pro 2 uses a QuickCharge charger, and needs 9 volts.
