      <description>&lt;P&gt;Ok.. So I seen the end of life for the pro 2 cameras but will it still work with the base with no more updates or will they not work at all..? And have to get newer ones..?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;But I believe the cameras will still work with the base, but will need a subscription for storage.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You have until 1 January 2024. There should more clarity by then, since the pro goes EoL on 1 April 2023.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;The EOL email I received on 1 January said (in part):&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;These cameras may continue to be operated after April 1, 2023 by all existing Arlo owners to live stream video, receive motion notifications, and store video clips locally with a compatible Arlo base station. These cameras also can utilize Arlo’s new cloud storage, which is available with the Arlo Secure&amp;nbsp;subscription&amp;nbsp;service, though the EOL’d cameras themselves may lose some functionality over time, as they will not be provided with further firmware upgrades.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I don't know what you mean exactly by "adding recordings to base".&amp;nbsp; If you mean adding the ability to store local recordings to a VMB3xxx base, then I think the answer is "no".&amp;nbsp; If you are wanting to know if local recordings will still be stored to a VMB4xxx or VMB5000, then that email says "yes".&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I have a couple of pro 2 cameras and one pro&amp;nbsp; in service, with a subscription. on 4 January I received another email regarding the pro, which says in part:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;While it is true that on April 1, 2023 these camera models and some services will EOL, your hardware and current&amp;nbsp;subscription&amp;nbsp;will continue to function as before. You will not see any immediate changes upon this EOL date, as your devices are already activated under your Arlo Secure&amp;nbsp;subscription&amp;nbsp;plan, which includes 30 days of cloud storage.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Note I would lose cloud storage if I didn't have a subscription.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>I Can't Believe They Are Doing Long Term Customers Like This!</title>

      <description>&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;P&gt;The same thing is happening to a lot of people still using Pro, Pro 2, and any end of life cameras. The company has basically made the end of life (EOL) cameras paperweights with the new updates. Here is what I posted on there social media account earlier today:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Been an Alro supporter since 2019. I have even discussed their hardware and support on my page as an influencer. Well unfortunately all of that has stopped as of today due to this weekend. This weekend for some reason my wife's Arlo app updated which caused her not to be able to view any of our 12 cameras. Reached out to support and was told I needed to just update my app to match hers, which I thought was strange as I have my phone auto update, but anyway I did it. To my surprise it worked except we now had lost our ability to alert emergency personnel from our phones. As an annual subscription payer, I asked what was I paying over $200/yr for if I can't alert emergency services anymore? I was told for cloud storage. I was then offered a discount to the new premium plan for a year to get emergency services back. To which I agreed. Thinking the problem is solved at least until next year when my bill would be now over $300 a year. Boy was I wrong! As soon as the upgraded my service the new plan instantly killed 4 cameras off of my app. As even though the new plan states unlimited cameras, it's not for end of life (EOL) cameras as they state. So Arlo's solution to this problem was to offer me 50% off replacing every camera in my house that were working fine until Alro decided to make some of them stop working. For this company to attempt to treat cameras like smartphones thinking I'm going to purchase new ones every 5 years is down right criminal. And right now they are trying their best to not even give me my annual refund back. What a great company....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Update: After originally being told I would not get my full refund that was processed annually on Feb 10th they made a quick change of heart when I stated I read the terms and I had 30 days to cancel. I truly cannot believe that a company that I have literally bragged about in the past is now treating customers like this.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Update: From my original message, Arlo reached out to me with what they deemed were solutions to problems they clearly caused.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Solution 1: Replace my 3 removed offline Pro 2 cameras with 3 Alro Essential cameras and a 30% discount on my annual plan to which I declined as those are inferior cameras that have to fully come down to be charged and have to have a paid plan to work.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Solution 2: Replace my 3 removed offline Pro 2 cameras with 3 Alro Pro 5s cameras and a 30% discount on my annual plan to which I declined as those cameras have to have a paid plan to work and I didn't trust Arlo not do the same thing with my remaining 5 Pro 2 cameras. We countered with replacing all 8 of our Pro 2 cameras with Alro Pro 5s. We figured if we're losing the ability to have free service and using our working perfectly fine cameras until this weekend, that was fair... They said no and came with...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Solution 3: Replace my 3 removed offline Pro 2 cameras with 3 Alro Pro 5s cameras and buy 5 Arlo Essential cameras with a 50% discount and a 50% discount on my annual plan to which I declined because I wasn't going to buy anything for a problem Alro clearly caused. As was proven with 5 of my Pro 2 cameras still worked. So I declined and was refunded my annual subscription.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I feel it is clearly unfair for Arlo to force their oldest clients to updrage their hardware this way. It is very unethical in my opinion and I fully explained that on the "recorded" line.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
