Camera's video recording delays FAIL to Capture crime activity

I purchased these Arlo systems to protect against crime. Our vehicle incurred over $1K damage to vandalism and the video evidence was USELESS due to the recording delay from the time of the motion was detected. We could hear the object thrown hit our car but the criminal got off of the police charges because of the video delay. In another incident the threatening people were able to drive completely down my driveway before the motion was detected. Happens all the time. almost a 3 to 5 second recording delay
I have zero WIFI issues. The signals are strong. The system says my firmware is up to date. If this is a known issue I would like a refund or replacement version of the camera that I can trust to monitor the safety of my property and family.

same thing happens to me some times they don’t pick up motion at all

@Boston-01473 3-5 seconds is normal on a battery wireless camera as it has to wake up. I have about a 3 second delay. If on AC it will have the "Foresight" feature with a 3 second buffer. Also, motion is detected better across the FOV rather than head on.

You could also consider the CVR plan option if you have external AC power to the camera.

Also consider how busy your local wifi network is as it can slow down the camera communication. I moved all my devices across to the 5ghz wifi of the dual band router so the arlo Base station is free to use the 2.4ghz wifi since it meshes with the router wifi. I currently get recording start times that allows birds capture mid flight using battery only cameras.
