Arlo pro 2 multiple base stations

I originally purchased a 3 camera set, but a few years later added a 2 camera set. My camera I added must be a littler farther out of range (walls, obstructions, etc) as they have poor signal, as I added them to the original base station. I read you can add another base station to improve signal. My question is will the cameras automatically chose which base station has best signal or do I have to assign it to it. Thanks for any help.

You pair each camera with a specific base station during installation.
