I've just stuck any old thumb drive in with no issues. This sounds like something you should take up with Sandisk.

I have had two Sandisk Cruzer USB flash drives, 32 GB, that are plugged into the base station go bad within the last 6 months. If the flash drive detects a problem it write protects itself to prevent loss of data existing. Therefore, I can read existing data from the drive.

Has anyone else had this problem? Are there more reliable flash drives? Could the Arlo base station be causing a problem?
