The lack of lightning bolt is the clue - power is not being provided. This could be due to a faulty outlet, charger, cable or camera. The most likely issue is that the cable isn't properly and fully inserted on both ends but the use of a proper charger that supplies both 5v and 9v outputs could be the issue.

We recently converted 2 arlo pro 2 cameras that were used wireless with batteries to being plugged in. Should I remove the batteries from these 2 cameras? The batteries appear to be draining even though they are plugged in all the time.

I recommend leaving the batteries in so the cameras will still work if unplugged (a UPS on the modem, router and base would also be useful for a power outage). However, the batteries shouldn't be draining unless you get a ton of recordings. Do you see the battery icon with the lightning bolt which indicates power is applied? Are you using AC power or a solar panel?
