Setting up Pro 2 Base Station but getting error. Plugged Ethernet cord to laptop.

I am trying to setup my Pro2 base station. I am wanting to use it while I travel with my camper. I am attempting to set it up with the base station plugged into my laptop using the provided ethernet cable. I keep getting a "Your base could not be discovered" messaged during setup. I do however know that I could accomplish setup using a wireless extender however since I do not own one, I am trying to avoid that.

this will not work....( the way you are doing it )

What you need is a Mobile Broadband modem with ethernet port.

With a data plan.... then the base gets plugged into it for internet connection

Or if the laptop allows tethering, then an extender with port ( which you don't have ) will work.
