Arlo firmware update: anyway to prevent it from automatically updating?

I notice in the firmware update announcements that “no action required by user”.

This concerns me because as a general Best practice (think software updates like Windows, iOS, app updates, etc), the users has ultimate control as to postponing updates for many logical reasons (I.e. wainting for a settling period to avoid newly introduced bugs - typical with most updates of all vendors).

Example: I am about to depart my locaton for several weeks and my Arlo system has been running fine. If my firmware (or software for that matter) is “automatically” updated without my consent, I risk my cameras going offline due to a newly introduced bug, and me being gone thousands of miles away when I need Arlo coverage the most.

Things like this have already happened to me.

Question: am I understanding correctly that NG pushes these updates out and they are installed without my intervention and if so, may I prevent this?

You are correct. They are pushed out often with no notice and you can not delay their implementation.

As to the apps, sometimes you can delay updating them on your device... sometimes you can't , but it will say update required to use ( usu only happens when new product is introduced )
