Does solar panel charge when base unit is offline?

A very basic question, but i haven't found an answer. Does the base unit need to be on, and the camera online for the solar panel to charge?

No , it will charge with the base off...but don’t recommend it as the camera uses power to reconnect to the base if offline.

better to just disarm the camera

Thx for the response! I don't leave the cameras on a lot of the time. My setup has front and back 3 hour periods -- late morning for the front and late afternoon on the back -- on days with strong sunshine!. My question was whether it was necessary to have the base unit on to take advantage of the sun. Thx!
