Yes you can. If it's one that you are currently using then use the app to remove the device from your system and then he will be able to sync. it to his existing system.

Forgot to include detail..he has Arlo pro 3 and I have pro 2; does that make a difference? Will pro2 camera still work with pro 3 system?

Yes, that way around will work. Pro 3 camera on a Pro 2 base will not.

I need to modify my comment above.

The Pro 3 is not compatible with the VMB3500 and 3000 bases but is with the newer bases.
