Have you tried to adjust the sense level higher ?

The only thing I see that I can increase is brightness , I just increased them all to 100%

Plug it in. My driveway camera had the very same problem (motion directly towards camera does not get picked up very well, the nature of this particular technology ) Once it’s running on a/c power it has the 3 second preview. My system if great now. Plus, I have a spare battery. Cost of the charger is less than a new battery.
