Does it strike anyone as odd that you can just enter 1 password and that's it - you can access your Arlo account remotely?

No two-factor authentication or further attempt to add a layer of security??

So simply put... one can brute-force my password and that's it? They have access to live cams of my house?

It seems really unsettling and not well thought out.... all the major companies have at the very minimum two-factor authentication....

You are correct I believe, they can also shut it all off when the time is right and you would not know.

Suggest you use a long and complex password even changing it monthly as a precaution.

Just be aware that when you use third party smart apps with your system you are also giving them your login details and if they get hacked then your system is up for sale.
