While recording an image will disappear. The audio will continue and surrounding area will still appear.

Example: A car and person will be recorded and the car and person disappear. The street will show without the person and car but can hear engine.

After recording has been saved an image will disappear. Example: I will go to recorded 2 minute period and a person and car will disappear but can hear engine running. The street will show as if a person and car is not there but they are there.

Seems to be a common theme, the missing video content in the recording I mean.

This is a common occurrence with wifi streaming systems that have local intermittent interference. The arlo server stops recording the video stream data when it occurs but audio continues hence the last video frame is added at the end to give the appearance that the recording was full.
If you’re lucky to have the USB backup working then the full length video should be on there.
