just bought arlo pro 2 the box should get here tomorrow.

what speed is necessary to connect base station to my router?

i have an existing Netgear powerline network with 100, 200, and 500 megabit adapters.

will these work or do i need to upgrade to gigabit for the arlo to work?

i know internet upload speed must be 1 mbps or greater. i am asking only about the local area network connection.

thank you.

The base will connect at 100Mbps if available although 10Mbps should also work fine. You're fine.

@geriatricjerry wrote:

First see if you really need to use Powerline. If the wifi signal is good enough, it might work with a direct connection to the router.

Second, don't be fooled by the speed claims on those Powerline adapters. The 500s, for example, have 100 Mbps LAN.

But as @jguerdat says, that should be fine. It worked here. But I now have the base station near the router. No problems, even with a long wifi haul.
