Hello,

Thinking about purchasing the Arlo Pro 2. We would want to plug them into a power source because we don't want to deal with changing batteries every few months. However, I don't necessarily want to upgrade to the continuous cloud recording service, and would just want the cloud to record after motion detection has been triggered with the free service. Is that possible?

Yes, that's how it works.

Free 7 day cloud based recording for up to 5 cameras.

The Pro 2 cameras only record on motion by default. You can decide how sensitive the motion detection should be and how long the recorded video clip should be.
