Does the video quality has any effect on motion detection range?

The "Best Video" option has a note next to it "May reduce battery life". I'm assuming this only effects battery life while recording.

Does anyone have any experience on the effect on battery for best video?

Ive always run on BEST video and get up to 4 months... I would guess on a lower setting I may squeeze a month more but IMO, not worth it.

Video quality does not change motion detection range. Lower video quality will improve battery life as TomMac suggests above. Increasing video quality will reduce battery life (while recording).
