Is the Arlo Essential security camera VMC3050 compatible with an Arlo Pro base station, Model VMB4000?

No (at least not yet).

None of the Gen 2 cameras can be paired with a base/smarthub. Arlo has said this feature is coming, but haven't said exactly when.

Note that even after they add this, you will need a subscription for the camera in order to see any recordings in the app or browser. Legacy cameras (pro, pro 2 etc) were sold with free 7 days of rolling cloud storage. None of the currently sold cameras have that feature.

So you could just connect this camera directly to your home wifi.
