Firmware updates (potentially reasonably large) are pushed out to the cameras over wifi, as are any control requests (small). Of course firmware updates stop when the cameras go EoL.

Video is streamed from the camera to the base.

I have the new ultra 2 system with the 5000 base all hooked up

question is, does the base transmit much or does it rely on transmissions of the cameras.

curious if connecting the old first gen base for siren capability only will add to an already loaded house ( Orbi with 2 sats and Phillips hue, Arlo 5000 base, and all other equipment connecting to the Wi-Fi Orbi system which is a good bit even if many things are actually hardwired, it’s a tech junkies house lol )
